NLive is a system developed by NORCE that enables high-performance visualization of georeferenced and timestamped datasets in 3D on a virtual globe. The system can display both realtime and timeshifted datasets combined with different map and object layers, such as points or buildings. The timeseries come from many different sensors and instruments, including cameras, hyperspectral imagers and laser scanners integrated with drone flight telemetry, AIS or transponder data, air quality measurements, and more. The system is highly extensible and adaptable, enabling integration with new datasets and data sources in an efficient manner.
NLive is used to visualize large-scale ground deformation datasets computed using interferometric SAR data from satellites. It provides the front- and backend to InSAR Norway and the European Ground Motion Service.
NLive has been and is actively used in multiple research projects at NORCE, including the ESA-funded Cryosphere Virtual Lab and EU's Horizon Europe-funded M4Mining project. NLive is also used internally at NORCE when conducting flight campaigns with either drones or the manned NORCE research aircraft (LN-UAV) or Lufttransport's LN-LYR.
